Editorial team · 14 contributors

We're 14 Indonesians who fly, write, and fact-check from Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta — and the diaspora.

SkyIndoFly is a small Indonesian editorial collective writing about flights, PMI logistics, diaspora rules, baggage, and IDR-first fare math. We do original reporting — not press releases, not travel-agency SEO.

Team composition by numbers

Fourteen contributors across five desks. Age distribution: 2 in their 20s, 4 in their 30s, 5 in their 40s, 3 in their 50s. All staff are Indonesian, Indonesia-based, or recently returned from the diaspora. Notable backgrounds include: two PMI returnees, one ex-PPIU SISKOPATUH staff, one former Garuda Indonesia ground operations employee, and one UGM Bahasa Indonesia language professor.

Single-byline policy

All articles appear under SkyIndoFly Editorial Team. Three reasons:

  • Editorial consistency across voice and tone in five registers (Voice A Umrah formal-warm, Voice B PMI bilevel, Voice C diaspora warm-formal, Voice D Bali backpacker, Voice E neutral tools).
  • Source protection for editors with sensitive industry contacts — active PPIU staff, ex-labor attaché KBRI Riyadh, in-country contacts in KSA/HK/Taiwan.
  • Process accountability reflecting two-desk review before publication — writer + fact-checker from a different desk.

Editorial standards

  • Two-source rule for YMYL topics (visa rules, customs, baggage allowances), with at least one Indonesian government domain (kemenag.go.id, bp2mi.go.id, imigrasi.go.id, beacukai.go.id, kemlu.go.id) or destination-country regulator.
  • IDR currency presented first; foreign currencies in parentheses.
  • Real fare ranges from weekly Aviasales/Travelpayouts snapshots — not stock copy.
  • PMI/Umrah-pilgrim perspective defaults for relevant routes and rules.
  • Natural Bahasa-baku × Indo-English code-switching — not gaul, not elite-Jakarta.
  • Affiliate disclosure on every applicable page.
